You did the work. We get you paid.

Debt collection and process serving based in Kaitaia. Not a call centre in another city — which means for debts anywhere in the Far North, the collector working your file is already here.

  • $0 upfront — no recovery, no commission
  • Local feet on the ground from Auckland north

Why us

Why a local collector recovers more

20% of what we recover

Plus disbursements, and nothing upfront. If we recover nothing, you owe us no commission. We confirm the rate in writing before we lift a finger.

Based in the Far North

The big agencies cover this region from Auckland or Christchurch. Our office is on Empire Street in Kaitaia. A debtor who has been ignoring letters responds differently to someone who can turn up.

Your customer relationship survives

Most debts are recovered with a firm, professional conversation — not threats. We collect the money without torching a relationship you may still want.

Straight answers first

We will tell you if we think a debt is not worth chasing. An honest no costs you nothing and saves you months of false hope.

Debt collection across the Far North and Northland

Chasing an unpaid invoice is a miserable use of your time. It is also work you have already done and already paid for — in materials, in wages, in the hours you spent on the job. Handing the file to us gets it off your desk and puts it in front of someone whose entire job is recovering it.

We work on a straightforward basis: 20% of what we recover, plus disbursements, with nothing payable upfront. No joining fee, no monthly minimum, no charge per letter. If the money does not come in, no commission is payable.

What makes a Far North collector different

Most agencies servicing this region are running the file from somewhere else. That works fine while a debtor is still answering the phone. It stops working the moment they are not.

Our office is in Kaitaia. That lets us do the thing that actually moves a stalled file: attend in person. A debtor who has spent six weeks ignoring letters from a PO box in another island tends to engage rather quickly when someone from their own district is standing at the counter.

It matters most where the distances are greatest. From Auckland, an attempt at an address near Pukenui, out the Hokianga or behind Kaikohe is most of a two-day exercise — so on a routine file it simply never happens, and the debt gets written off as uncollectable when really it was never pursued. Those are the files we take over most often.

How the process works

  1. You send us the file — invoice, contract or terms of trade, and any record of what has been said so far. Five minutes of your time.
  2. We assess it and confirm terms — including our commission and any likely disbursements, in writing, before we act.
  3. Letter of demand and direct contact — formal, professional, and clear about the consequences of continuing to ignore it.
  4. Escalation, only if needed — a field visit, a credit default listing, or a referral for legal proceedings. Nothing that costs you money happens without your written approval.
  5. The money reaches you — and we invoice our commission on what was actually received.

What we take on

Commercial and trade debt is our core work: unpaid invoices, breached payment arrangements, defaulted accounts, and rental or service arrears. We work for builders, subcontractors, equipment hire firms, transport operators, professional services, property managers and small manufacturers across the region.

If you are not sure whether your debt is worth pursuing, ask. We would rather tell you honestly that a file is weak than take it on and waste everyone’s time.

Common questions

What does debt collection cost?

We charge 20% of what we actually receive, plus disbursements such as filing fees or search costs. There is no upfront fee and no joining fee. If we recover nothing, no commission is payable. We confirm the rate and any likely disbursements in writing before we start.

What are disbursements?

Third-party costs we pay on your behalf while working a file — court filing fees, credit bureau searches, or a field visit. They are itemised, not marked up, and we tell you before incurring anything significant.

How old can a debt be before it is not worth chasing?

Fresher is better — recovery rates drop sharply after about 90 days. That said, we regularly recover debts well over a year old. In New Zealand most contract debts can be pursued for six years from when the debt fell due, so an old debt is rarely a dead one. Send it to us and we will give you an honest read.

Do you cover the whole of Northland?

Yes. We are based in Kaitaia, so the Far North is our strongest ground — Kaitaia, Kaikohe, Doubtless Bay, the Hokianga and up the peninsula. We also cover Kerikeri and the Bay of Islands, Whangārei, Dargaville and the Kaipara, and south into Auckland. Being able to attend in person is the main thing that separates us from a national agency.

Will you damage my relationship with the customer?

Not deliberately, and rarely in practice. Our first step is a professional letter of demand followed by direct contact. Most people pay at that point. We escalate only with your instruction, and plenty of our clients keep trading with the customer afterwards.

What if the debtor disputes the invoice?

We stop and come back to you. A genuine dispute is a commercial matter between you and your customer, not something a collector should steamroll. We will help you document it and, if it is resolvable, often get it settled.

When should I hand a debt over?

Once your own reminders have stopped working — usually around 60 to 90 days overdue, or immediately if the debtor has gone quiet, changed their number, or broken a payment arrangement. Waiting rarely improves the odds.

Do I have to go to court?

Almost never. The large majority of debts we handle settle without proceedings. If legal action does become the sensible option, we will set out the likely cost and prospects and you decide — we never commit you to legal expense without written approval.
